Impala

Head Counsellor

Meet Impala!

My camp name is "Impala" because my favorite care is a 1967 Chevy Impala. It also pairs well with my husband's camp name which is "Chevy". I have had lots of experience at Stepping Stones! I was a camper for 5 or 6 years throughout elementary to high school. I have spent 7 weeks since 2014 as a counsellor for every age group from Stones to Boulder. I also had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks on staff for the day camps in the summer of 2021. I am very excited to be serving at camp again while it is running at full capacity and to spend the most amount of weeks in row there to date! A favorite camp memory of mine is from my first week as a counsellor. Throughout the week I had bonded with a camper who was dealing with a tough home situation and had a similar family dynamic to mine. We were able to relate to each other and I was able to show them that although the situation was tough, God would carry them through it. It was such an amazing experience to see God working through camp to bring that child comfort and peace. That is what Stepping Stones is all about; encouraging young people to know Christ more deeply! I am excited to serve at Stepping Stones this summer to assist in bringing the gospel and the love of Christ to children in our communities! The counsellors at camp have arguably one of the most important roles, so I am looking forward to helping lead the female counsellors and guide them so that they might be great mentors for the campers. I am most excited for the praise and worship at camp. Singing about God's love and all that He has done and continues to do for us, truly makes me feel closer in my relationship with Him. To hear those words and the passion in the singing coming out of the camper's mouths and hearts is one of the most enriching parts of Stepping Stones.
